Fusilier Museum Tower of London – 22nd October 2019

James Goolnik the Chairman of the Bow Bells Association organised the wonderful array of local shops and businesses in Bow Lane, Watling Street and Well Court to get involved. The party was supported by Claire Dumontier-Marriage from the Cheapside Business Alliance. The streets were decorated with bunting and there was live music, food, raffles and lots of socially distanced smiles! We all all hoping for it to become an annual event in the City.

During the evening there was an opportunity to explore the museum’s significant collection, including 12 Victoria Cross Medals won by the Regiment, the uniform and bearskin of Kind George V, and an Eagle Standard of the 82nd Regiment of the French Line captured by the Royal Fusiliers during the Napoleonic Wars.  The museum is housed in a building originally built as officers quarters and still houses the Regimental Headquarters and the Officers Mess.
